Congratulations. Or not.
Why does LinkedIn do this?
Why does LinkedIn do this?
LinkedIn often asks me to congratulate someone for X amount of years in their job, and it’s something I don’t understand.
Just now I’ve had a notification to congratulate someone on 20 years service. Seriously? Congratulate them? I want to send them a wreath in memory of their potential career.
Changing jobs, or working at a new company can be a scary prospect. As humans we have a built in fear of the unknown and often settle with ‘better the devil you know’.
This. Must. Stop.
Challenge yourself to try something new. Look at new jobs, in new sectors, or with new companies. There is an entire planet of potential employers, and new jobs you probably didn’t even know you could be paid to do.
Don’t live in the bubble. Pop it, learn new skills, make new connections. Let others benefit from your skills, and embrace learning from them and new businesses.
I promise you, if you move around, you will be happier and your life will feel more purposeful. Master this ability and the skills will transfer to your every day existence and empower you to try lots of new things.
If you aren’t sure about a move, contact me. I’m not a recruitment consultant, but I’d be more than happy to share my personal experiences.
Go. Be awesome.
